West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) launches NAC

West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) jointly introduce NASSCOM Assessment of Competence (NAC) at West Bengal - an assessment-cum-certification program for candidates who aspire to be a part of the ITES-BPO industry. NASSCOM, with active participation of ITES-BPO industry players, designed NAC, which is aimed at creating a robust and continuous pipeline of talent by transforming the "trainable" workforce into an "employable" workforce. As working with the ITES-BPO industry involves working primarily for global clients, that too in a global environment, the preferred language (medium of instruction) is English.

NAC is to become a national-level certification program and its very first administration at West Bengal successfully took place in the month of January 08. This was open to all final-year undergraduates who wish to be employed with the ITES-BPO companies in future.

As the first administration of NAC was being subsidized by government, the assessment was made available to candidates for FREE.

WBUT announces the JOB FAIR for WB NAC candidates   
The first round of West Bengal NAC successfully took place on 13-January-2008 at Kolkata where approx. 500 candidates took the test. The score cards are available on the website.

West Bengal NAC JOB FAIR is scheduled to take place on 19-April-08 at West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), BF-142, Salt Lake, Sector-1, Bidhannagar, Kolkata. This job fair is exclusively for NAC candidates.

Note:
  1. Time to reach the venue – 09:30a.m.
  2. Each NAC candidate will get a call from us regarding the job fair
  3. One must carry the NAC Score Card to the job fair venue along with 5 copies of resume and some passport-size photographs

To print your NAC Score Card /Job Fair Card, follow the below-mentioned process:
  1. Go to 'already registered' section
  2. Fill the desired details in the given fields
    (same as what you filled in the online registration form)
  3. Click 'view/print your NAC score card'
  4. Take a printout of your NAC score card
The print out of your Score Card should come in 2 pages & Job Fair Card in 1 page. To ensure the correct print settings, go to 'File > Page Setup' on your internet explorer window and check the following before you print the documents:
- Paper size: A4
- Header: None
- Footer: None
- Orientation: Portrait
- Margins: Left 0.75, Right 0.75, Top 0.75, Bottom 0.16
